French painter : B. 1796, Paris, D. 1875, Paris
I have been accused of showing only the most famous of artists, ignoring the good, but lesser known ones.
In the interest of fair play, and because these painters are wonderful and masters at their craft, I will share some of their work here.
Using muted colors and bright lighting, Corot, achieves the desired view of the landscape.
When painting his portraits, he does the same diffused light with subtle color, to bring out the shapes of his subjects.
Enjoy this French painter and his Realism.
