Mushrooms are different and strange.

One of my favorite things to photograph is mushrooms. I always find them in hidden places, dark places. The colors amaze me. Under appreciated, they thrive even when neglected and unnoticed.

May you thrive even in darkness
May you grow in the hidden places of your heart
May you find peace in the quiet areas of life.

I have a cousin who is an expert mushroom hunter: he knows what to look for and where to find them.  He makes some wonderful dishes with them.  I’m not so sure of which are edible and which are deadly, so I confine my interest in wild mushrooms to looking at them.   When hunting for edible mushrooms I head for Food City.

    Beautiful photos, Sonia!

There’s truly something more to the mushroom than meets the eyes. Yes,
they may look different but some of their species have proven to be very
helpful to us all this time. They have provided a lot of health
benefits, and they can be certainly a good source for food.
