Dear Baba Rumcake,
Certain people make me feel good, but most make me paranoid that they actually dislike me and are laughing at me or something like that.
How come it is hard to find the ones that just make me feel good?

My debut novel, a light beach read for the approaching summer months. Having garnered a string of 5-star reviews, it has been topping the bestseller charts in Women’s Fiction. This enchanting novel is part of the Salma Keir trilogy.
“… I read this book and absolutely loved it…anyone who likes a book with humor, love, friendship and some drama will really enjoy this book.”
“… Ms Rumzi has just the right touch of pulling you into the story and the lives of her characters…”
Description
Salma, in her late forties, is not expecting much of relationships after years of dating. Then she finds a man… online, of all places.
After meeting Merrick in person and falling for him, she discovers that his x-wife is still in the picture. Is he worth fighting for, or is it too late to risk yet another relationship disappointment? And what will it cost to make him her own?

Take What You Want
Is it true that we should always have what we want? Is it true that as individuals the idea of being without, is anathema? When did this thought come about? Where and when did this sour cold reality of our being come to be?
To answer that, one has to look into the history of our lives. Individually, that is. My well to do Father, God rest his soul, refused to buy me things on principle. He knew that he could buy the doll, the car or the dress but simply, did not.
The idea was a reminder, a lesson, that, just because you want it, does not mean you have to have it. It is discipline and self control to stay a need, hold off on a desire and practice patience and perseverance.
In this world of love and love touted by simpletons preaching a weak Christianity, these important words patience and perseverance, have been forgotten to our world of easy life. We were never promised a bed of roses or an easy walk. The road is still narrow, years after the Bible preached it. The purification by fire is still our mantra, still our way. Take the narrow road, stay the course and you will come out Victorious.
Read people like Watchman Nee, Oswald Chambers, Mac Donald and C.SLewis who did not dilute nor lived as citizens of this world, but knowing that they belonged to another world to come. Never let your guard down with an easy life, there will be hell to pay for the lack of precaution and foresight.
When faced with decisions on whether to take or give, give freely, it is not yours anyway. When faced with taking, take graciously, accepting with humble gratitude since you may face days without. Never ever take your life and your blessings for granted, it will come back to haunt you in the future.
Accept with graceful abandon the gifts of today, remembering that all is temporal, all is instant to disappear when you are alone leaving this pit stop for the rest of eternity.
Raging Neighbor Bothers Me!
Dear Baba Rumcake,
A new neighbor moved into the apartment above me a couple months ago. A few times now I and other neighbors have been woken up to the sound of him screaming “f**k you!” repeatedly and banging on his walls and floor repeatedly for hours in the middle of the night. There is nobody else in the apartment with him as he freaks.
What can be done about this situation? I am sure the neighbor will go into a rage again and I have a 9-5 job I need to be awake for during the day. Any ideas?

Gene Pool Clean Up!
Happy Birthday Charles Darwin
I love Darwin. But, my take on it is always regarding the Darwin Awards. Survival of the Fittest, meaning mentally in this case, takes on a whole different meaning, when you think of it in those terms.
There is nothing you can do, to stop some idiot, from killing themselves, by being stupid; thus removing them from the gene pool. Woo hoo! So much the better for us all. [Read more…] about Gene Pool Clean Up!
