Is it true that we should always have what we want? Is it true that as individuals the idea of being without, is anathema? When did this thought come about? Where and when did this sour cold reality of our being come to be?
To answer that, one has to look into the history of our lives. Individually, that is. My well to do Father, God rest his soul, refused to buy me things on principle. He knew that he could buy the doll, the car or the dress but simply, did not.
The idea was a reminder, a lesson, that, just because you want it, does not mean you have to have it. It is discipline and self control to stay a need, hold off on a desire and practice patience and perseverance.
In this world of love and love touted by simpletons preaching a weak Christianity, these important words patience and perseverance, have been forgotten to our world of easy life. We were never promised a bed of roses or an easy walk. The road is still narrow, years after the Bible preached it. The purification by fire is still our mantra, still our way. Take the narrow road, stay the course and you will come out Victorious.
Read people like Watchman Nee, Oswald Chambers, Mac Donald and C.SLewis who did not dilute nor lived as citizens of this world, but knowing that they belonged to another world to come. Never let your guard down with an easy life, there will be hell to pay for the lack of precaution and foresight.
When faced with decisions on whether to take or give, give freely, it is not yours anyway. When faced with taking, take graciously, accepting with humble gratitude since you may face days without. Never ever take your life and your blessings for granted, it will come back to haunt you in the future.
Accept with graceful abandon the gifts of today, remembering that all is temporal, all is instant to disappear when you are alone leaving this pit stop for the rest of eternity.

“Roe v. Wade prompted a national debate that continues today, about issues including whether and to what extent abortion should be legal, who should decide the legality of abortion, what methods the Supreme Court should use in constitutional adjudication, and what the role should be of religious and moral views in the political sphere. Roe v. Wade reshaped national politics, dividing much of the nation into pro-choice and pro-life camps, while activating grassroots movements on both sides.”
Wikipedia
Unfortunately, this issue was taken to the religious arena where debate is still hot and bothers most Christians.
Sin is sin! Murder is still murder. This is not a political debate. And yet, as Christians, we have insisted on making it a political war zone. We are not politicians. Jesus was NOT a politician. Jesus loved man and died for his sins. We love not the world, so why are we so entrenched in the world of politics.
The word politics derives from the latin, Politika, which means, citizen of the world. We are not citizens of the world. We are free of this world, to the next. Stop getting yourself bogged down by the troubles of this world.
Part of the reason why America began, was to get away, from the rule of the Catholic church and stand alone; without being told what to do. I am not “for” abortion, for myself. But, I do not inflict my own personal opinion on others. Stop doing it! Our nation has been infected by political sermons.
Preach Jesus, not issues!
When radio broadcasts that I loved, went to politics, they changed their platform, instead of ‘Jesus people’, they have become ‘political people’. Associate yourself with Christ, not with politics and current issues.
If you believe that you should not have an abortion, do not have one. You have no right, stopping anyone else, deciding for themselves, their own course of action, in their own life. That is between them, and God. We are not judge and jury. We are citizens of a future life, not here, and not to be meddled with, ever.
Keep the faith!

Dear Baba Rumcake,
A friend was blabbering on how boring “Tantric Sex” is. Not seeming overly sincere, I asked how he got his in-depth knowledge. He said his understanding comes from experts, in men’s magazines. Not an ounce, of personal experience. Sheesh.
Recently, the Internet has been flooded with articles (photos too) on Sting & Trudie Styler and their THIRTY year relationship (including 6 kids) of, sizzling, sex life. I know what tawdry is, but tantra? If Tantra, does that for them, then, I’m:
Tantrika (wanna be) in Texas Sunshine
Dear T. I. T. S.,
Wow,
Your friend is a moron. He is a simpleton who does not want or need to take the time to learn.
What you ask, is very real and widely practiced in the Yoga community. Here are some possbilities and then a real answer.
First, go to your nearest large consumer bookstore ( or search on-line ). Find, all the books, with writhing naked couples, associated with the word “Tantra” or “Tantric Sex”, on the front. Study the back covers of each one, for a minute or so. The juiciest ones have stuff like; “simple, yet powerful exercises”, “a few minutes a day”, “best and hottest techniques”… buy any two of these and glance through the pages of each. Congratulations, you are now a (cough) Western expert in Tantric Sex.
OR do the following in order:
Great, with your Bachelor’s Degree equivalent, you *start* to have the body & mind for the Tantric Texts… Oh, you thought, this was going to be, easy? You thought, there was, a magic pill? Sting, has been practicing for over 20 years, and he, was in great shape (or so he thought) before he and his wife, stepped on the Yogic path.
Oh, and as for that, know it all, friend, does he, pass out, after 15 minutes of sex? Of course he does. Can he have multiple orgasms without ejaculating? Not a chance.
Thankfully, biology takes good care of us. If cavemen did not fall asleep when they spilt their seed, they would have beaten us to death, wanting more. Resulting in killing off, their latest progeny, before, they pop open, their next beer; you know what I mean.
Blessing on your new studies, and do let me know of your progress.

“Belief is not an intellectual act; belief is a moral act whereby I deliberately commit myself.” – Oswald Chambers
Most people who do things based on faith, have always been considered crazy or impractical. Contrary to that are the people who do everything based on their understanding of a situation. Acting on the information gleaned from it. Those are the people that are considered sane and balanced.
But what of our faith life? What of believing in what we have not seen? What of blind faith and acceptance?
I refuse to live my life solely on my own intellect. I have found me to be unreasonable and narrow minded. I have found me to be small minded and do not have the capacity to see beyond what my eyes see.
I choose to live with abiding faith. I choose belief in what I have not seen and promises of joy and gladness. I choose to live free of the constraints of my fears and doubts. I choose to live deliberately committing myself to God.
